Ian Cawthorne - About Me

I have just finshed a BA(HONS) degree in Multimedia Design & Digital Animation at Cumbria Institute of the Arts, Carlisle, from which I received a 1st class. I specialise in areas of web including design and construction, using the Macromedia programs: Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks, utilising scripts such as html, css, php, javascript and actionscript.

As well as my web knowledge, I also have excellent experience with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, 3d packages Cinema 4D and Softimage XSI, video editing software such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects and making interactive cd-roms using Macromedia Director (lingo).

I am currently working for a design company based in Carlisle called 'Hydrant Design Associates'. Our work ranges from smaller sites which use Dreamweaver and Contribute templates, to large content managed sites powered by Joomla.

about me: A brief overview of who I am, my interests, achievements, education, jobs and work experience.

3d animation: Some of my short animations made in Cinema 4d and Softimage XSI. All the videos have been converted from Quicktimes to Flash movies using the Sorenson Spark codec, improving file size and download times considerably.

digital av: Some films made for university assignments and also through personal interest, edited in the programs Adobe Premiere and After Effects. digital photography: A particular favourite hobby of mine is taking photographs. Even more so being able to manipulate the results on the computer. Here is a gallery of some of my favourite snaps. Click a thumbnail for an enlargement.
