About Me

In 2005 I completed a BA(HONS) degree in Multimedia Design & Digital Animation at Cumbria Institute of the Arts, Carlisle (now the University of Cumbria), in which I received a 1st class. I specialise in areas of web including research, development, design and build, with experience in the Adobe programs: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash and Fireworks, utilising scripts such as html, css, php and javascript libraries such as jQuery.

Since graduating, I have worked at a design company based in Carlisle called 'Hydrant Ltd'. Most web sites we build use the open source content management system, Drupal. My work involves creating bespoke 'Drupal themes' and configuring web sites with the dynamic framework that Drupal's contributed modules offer.

Interests

I appreciate the countryside a great deal and enjoy walking and cycling. My main interest is mountain biking and I also enjoy digital photography.

In the summer of 2000 I planned and led a team on a 210 mile coast to coast off road mountain bike ride from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay in 3 days. Because I enjoyed the coast to coast so much the first time round, I decided to do it again in summer 2005 and a third time in 2007.

In September 2005 I entered the Grizedale Mountain Bike Challenge - a 32 mile endurance race with over 300 competitors taking part. I finished in 64th place after suffering an unfortunate puncture half way round!
